Athletics day

Yesterday we had athletics day.  We had to bring our house colours to be represent our house. The things we did was long jump ,hurdles ,shot put ,sack race ,high jump , discus and sprints. When we did sprints I ended up going as fast as I could and got 4th place. It was kind of an achievement for me but I knew I need to push my self to go faster. The part I liked the most was high jump to be real. The hard part was in shot put when we had to try hit the target which was a cone. The easy part was doing high jump because it was extremely fun and easy.

Boat reflect number 2

Before morning tea we did a test down at the pool and we filled one of the boats with water and see if it will float. The bottom bit sank but the top bit floated because it had air in it.

SLJ

If I was to go back to the 1930s. I would take a ticket to the Willy Wonka factory because its like every kids dream to go to a factory like that. There would be Candy, Chocolate and all sourts. It is such a dream... My favorite type of chocolate is rocky road because it is sweet and fills your mouth with taste.

Fun run

Last Friday 7 September we traveld to the United Kawakawa RFC on the train to do our fun run/cross country. When we arrived there we were excited to think of what was a head of us that day. So as we arrived we sat under the tarpaulin and slowly waited for our ages to get called out . One by one our names were called out by miss Henare and some of the year 8 and 7's. When my age was called my guts sank like quit sand. As soon as she beeped the horn I was coming around 5th place then over took people to 3rd place. As we were jumping in and threw obstacles. When we were almost at the finish line me and Lj were coming neck and neck until he just beet me And at the end we headed back to we we got dropped off by the train and waited for the train will just playing. Ten minutes later the train unexpectedly finally arrived to our destination.

Floating classroom

On friday our class and room 2 went to Urupukapuka island to learn about pests and our native birds. As we boarded the boat I was thinking about what we are about to learn on the boat and the island. As we hit the island I see a whole Heep of big snapper just hanging around the warf. Our first activity was building and I was our constructionist in our class. We were building pests traps and learning how to trap and track them. Our second activity was planting. We were walking up the hills scanning the orange and blue triangles as we got to our planting destination we moved the weeds and started digging. Then we plopped out the plant out of the plastic bag and then started to plant it. As we were walking we jumped onto the boat and headed off home.

L:I reading

In reading we have been learning to read for meaning. Its like when you have to understand the text. The easy part is the definition. I personally never found  a hard part.

How the water cycle works.

1.evaporation
2.condensation
3. precipitation

evaporation is when the sunlight hits the water and it heats up into steam, making a short if in water.

condensation is when the steam vapours and rises  up into clouds. Then makes its way up to the next step precipitation.

precipitation is when the steam cools and starts to develop into water then later comes down either ran or snow.
